Don’t forget to stop by the town hall and enjoy the exhibition ‘The Way of the Holy Grail European Cultural Itinerary’ of Barracas (Comunidad Valenciana). The Barracas Agricultural Fair has become an event that brings together people of all ages and tastes around the main urban axis of Barracas. Of course, those interested in the world of horses and hunting with dogs cannot miss the event. The presence of animals, handicrafts and foodstuffs helps to encourage local tourism and that of the Alto Palancia region, as there are people who come from other towns and villages to take part in the fair, according to the mayor.
Among those attending the fair on Saturday 24th June, we would like to highlight the warm welcome given by the mayor of Barracas, Antonio Salvador Corell, to the councillors of Piña de Montalgrao, María Ángeles Muria Belmonte and two of her councillors, and José Arenes Vicente, mayor of the municipality of El Toro. As well as the local priest Pedro Miguel León, in charge of the parish church of San Pedro Apóstol.
On behalf of the Asociación Cultural El Camino del Santo Grial, Jesús Gimeno Peris gave an introduction to the presentation of the exhibition which is being held in the exhibition hall of the Barracas Town Hall. An exhibition that places several objects related to the Holy Chalice of the Cathedral of Valencia and its historical path. Relating all of this to the character of Indiana Jones and his search for the Holy Grail in his third film saga. It is curious to note the transfer of the history of the Crown of Aragon to the world of celluloid in this exhibition, which will be on show until the end of October.
The inauguration of the fair was attended this Saturday by the Bolivian Consul Nely Mamani Escobar. Her presence gives an international boost to the European route of the Way of the Holy Grail. We recall at this point that Ms. Nely actively participated in a working table of Latin America in the Second International Congress of Dissemination and Journalism The Way of the Holy Grail held in Massamagrell in 2022.
This fair is a strong contribution to the town’s economy, according to its mayor, because people need to buy materials and services to be able to enjoy their favourite activities during the days of the fair.
On the other hand, the Barracas Agricultural Fair also helps to promote contact with nature, through the possibility of outdoor activities such as watching the equestrian dressage or enjoying the dog shows.
It is also an excellent opportunity to promote animal care and to educate about responsible pet ownership.
In conclusion, attending and watching the fair is necessary to enjoy another way of getting to know Barracas. This is what Dr. Ana Mafé García, president of the Asociación Cultural El Camino del Santo Grial (The Way of the Holy Grail Cultural Association) said.
This year, the participation of companies interested in the world of horses and hunting with dogs stands out. This type of meeting is an opportunity to stimulate the local economy and tourism, to promote animal care, and to enjoy outdoor activities. If you love the countryside and agriculture, don’t miss the Barracas Agricultural Fair. For several years now, this event has become one of the most important fairs in the region, attracting numerous visitors interested in learning about the latest advances and novelties in the agricultural sector.
