‘El Cabanyal-Canyamelar’, the historic maritime neighbourhood of Valencia is a must see destination when visiting the city. Filled with history while also growing with the times, ‘El Cabanyal’ was named the third coolest neighbourhood in all of Europe by ‘The Guardian’ in 2020… and it doesn’t take long to see why. The barrio is filled with beautiful historic buildings, many of them covered in ceramic tiles, or painted in bright colours. Cabanyal is in the eastern part of the city and borders the sea; it includes ‘Mercat Cabanyal’, a wonderful food market. In recent years, ‘Cabanyal’ has rapidly grown; it is home to many modern and traditional delicious restaurants, distinctive nightclubs, unique bars and popular beaches.
