##Rocío Márquez makes her debut at ‘Palau de Les Arts’ of Valencia with songs from her latest album ‘Visto en El Jueves.’

– The ‘cantaora’ from Huelva, considered by the specialist press as the voice of the new generation of flamenco singing, will perform at Les Arts on Saturday 22 February.

The ‘cantaora’, who has been hailed by the press as the voice of the new generation of flamenco singing, will be the star of the second session of ‘Les Arts és Flamenco’, the first series that the arts centre has devoted to this genre, which opened with the successful concert by Diego el Cigala, which was sold out last December.

In ‘Visto en El Jueves’, the performer from Huelva displays her restless personality and her enormous curiosity with a repertoire in which the gap between flamenco and non-flamenco is blurred, with versions of songs by great artists, as well as  flamenco styles.

Songs by Bambino, Rocío Jurado, Paco Ibáñez, Concha Piquer, El Cabrero, Turronero, Pepe Marchena, José Menese and Manuel Vallejo intersect and intermingle with serranas, ‘abandolaos’, fandangos, malagueñas, rondeñas, peteneras, bulerías, marianas, romances and rumbas in the fifth album by the artist Rocío Márquez.

After dispensing with the guitar in her two previous projects (‘Firmamento’ and ‘Diálogos de viejos y nuevos sones’), Rocío Márquez returns to the cornerstone of flamenco with Canito. Between the two of them, and supported by Agustín Diassera’s percussion, they take on the challenge of expressing their expressive possibilities from the parameters of a musical naturalness and simplicity, while constantly experimenting with arrangements and melodies.

Tickets for Rocío Márquez’s performance, as well as for the rest of the concerts in this series, have a single price of 30 euros.
