‘FOR THE LOVE OF ART’, THE NEW SEASON AT ‘QUIQUE DACOSTA RESTAURANTE’

The three Michelin-starred chef, awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, launches his new season at his restaurant in Dénia (Alicante).  ‘Por Amor al Arte’ is the new gastronomic proposal of the three Michelin star chef Quique Dacosta that can be enjoyed from this month onwards at his restaurant in the Alicante town of Dénia. The chef is the winner of the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts and Doctor Honoris Causa in Fine Arts from the Miguel Hernández University. Dacosta  is evolving his culinary language while maintaining the fundamental pillars of his cuisine: product, territory, harmony, flavour, avant-garde concepts and fantasy. In this way, Dacosta creates something that transcends other artistic disciplines in terms of sensitivity and scope.

“My work goes beyond transforming food, far beyond feeding, aesthetics, harmony, technique, flavour or the product, even beyond ourselves”, said the chef in his eagerness to make the diner an active participant. In his desire to express himself from the kitchen, he has indicated that he looks forward every day to seducing diners: “cooking is my natural language, my profession, my passion and my only way of being in this life”, he concluded.

In addition, Quique Dacosta Restaurante offers a lounge space that called ‘Plénitude 2’, a unique and inspiring place that invites diners to experience the second life of Dom Perignon in harmony with the chef’s cuisine, giving a second life to one of the most iconic dishes of his career.

In a truly special season due to the depth that his proposal reaches, Dacosta has invited different personalities in the arts world to achieve plurality and different perspectives on the concept ‘For the love of art’ that lands this season in his restaurant located in Dénia. This is the case of Manolo García, musician and singer-songwriter, who affirms that the love of art treasured by different artists “leads directly to love of humanity, to that generous and compassionate something without which human life would be little more than insufferable”, and which connects us with the essence and authenticity “helping us to rest from those humdrum questions that invade us in our day to day lives”.

For her part, the illustrator and writer Paula Bonet points to “those few people who put their art at the service of the rest of the world without forgetting who they are and without becoming complacent”, but who in turn “please us, enlighten us, help us to think and be better. Some even feed us”, she reflected, alluding to Dacosta.

In short, the new season promises to be a faithful reflection of the chef’s current outlook and vision, who has positioned his three Michelin-starred restaurant on the world’s most important lists such as The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and Opinionated About Dining, which in recent years has placed it as one of the ten best in Europe, having occupied the number one ranking for two consecutive seasons.
