‘Doña Manteca’ will perform “Presente”, their first album on 30th January. Palau de Les Arts is hosting this cycle until the 9th of February, which aims to give a panoramic view of the leading sounds and groups on the Valencian circuit. The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía is entering the second week of its cycle ‘Les Arts és Músiques Valencianes’, dedicated to the diversity and richness of the musical scene of the Comunitat Valenciana, with the performance of ‘Doña Manteca’.
On Thursday, the 30th of January at 7:30 pm, Les Arts welcomes the Latin rhythms of ‘Doña Manteca’ and their first record: ‘Presente’. Three young Valencian women, Elena and Paula Almendros and Empar Mora, make up this up-and-coming group that, with their vocal harmonies and the accompaniment of guitar, violin and double bass, have viralised their versions of Latin classics with the approval of artists like Jorge Drexler, Karol G and Nathy Peluso.
‘Presente’ is a compilation of cover versions of songs by various artists, with which the Valencian group aims to give a new life to these well-known songs and, at the same time, pay tribute to their composers, because, as the group says, “good music is forever”. To round off their performance, ‘Doña Manteca’ will also present their first own composition at Les Arts too.
