##“Conciertos desde la cama” is back in 2021 and constitutes a revival of the current situation of live music, the scene of emerging groups linked to new pop and its new artistic expressions. ‘Concerts from a bed’ is a pop-up cycle (an emerging window), an ideal proposal for a specific moment.
Bedroom pop
The cycle continues to have “bedroom pop” at its centre, the platform through which artists create their songs in the current context. However, unlike the first part of the cycle where the focus was very much based on “new pop”, this time this new cycle broaden its focus, seeking the outer limits of this new concept with a diverse programme. With an accurate scenography, by the Valencian artist @ovidibenet, the music is presented as a fusion of performance, theatre and acting,
Security
Given the intimate nature of the concerts, following the safety measures set by the health authorities, the seating will be limited to 150 people and will guarantee a minimum personal distance of 1.5 metres. Likewise, the use of face masks will be mandatory both to access the space and during the live concerts.
With this, next Saturday, May 8, the first concerts will take place, in which the Gothic cloister of the CCCC will host a scenography created by the Valencian artist @ovidibenet around a centennial room. In addition, the cycle has the collaboration of Vibra Mahou, the musical platform of Mahou Cinco Estrellas, which joins the celebration by promoting unique experiences to live unforgettable encounters around music in Valencia.
Headlining the programme is Ralphie Choo, 21 years old and based in Madrid, one of the most powerful emerging artists in the capital. His music can be understood as a recurring dream, which is making a bigger and bigger hole in the mind of the listener and that definition is perfect, because it is difficult to pigeonhole him. His songs are experiments and fusions made from the bedroom, of anything he likes and sounds ranging from bossa, to flamenco, through experimental hip-hop, r&b, salsa or jazz. With all this he achieves a spectacularly fresh result that gives off a warmth typical of lo-fi and its imperfections.
For his part, the local artist puppy puppy will perform, belonging to the Valencian collective of experimental music and visual art Dominio, is characterized by exploring, musically speaking, through improvisation and the use of field recordings. It is a wandering pop soaked in lyrical voices, screams and asmr (autonomous sensory meridian response).
