‘MENORCA GROOVE’ FESTIVAL CELEBRATES ITS EIGHTH EDITION WITH ANA TIJOUX AND MIGUEL CAMPELLO (FROM ELBICHO) AMONG OTHERS

From 13th to 15th September 2024 in Es Claustre, Mahón. This is Paradise in the Mediterranean with Concerts and Talks.  The eighth edition of the Balearic meeting of danceable rhythms, the Menorca Groove Festival, is back. This is a festival that focuses on reggae, funk, tribal music, soul, dub and electronic music on the  paradise island of Menorca.

From 13 to 15 September, loyal to its initial philosophy, the programme once again features both emerging and established artists from the Balearic scene, national and international scene, in what has become a celebration of danceable music in a magical venue such as the cultural space, Es Claustre, in the historic centre of the port of Mahón.

This year’s festival features the Chilean singer Ana Tijoux, known for her style that fuses hip-hop with Latin American music, who will be the headliner of the eighth edition of the Menorca Groove Festival. The event will bring together on the island of Menorca to several unique proposals such as Nickodemus, DJ and producer of electronic music with influences of electronic music with global influences, and MIDI Jazz Club, a project that mixes jazz with electronic music. Also performing will be Miguel Campello, known for his fusion of flamenco and contemporary music, as well as Jazz Magnetism, who will be bringing their jazz style. Finally, Back Yaad and Hanakito will perform on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively, with their dub, Latin and Afrobeat sets, in what promises to be an eclectic edition that will once again celebrate the contribution of groove in our popular music.

As a novelty, the festival is bringing back its professional sessions aimed at the educational sector of the music industry, the MENORCA TALKS.

This section of the festival kicks off this September 2024 with panels entitled “Music and Community: The Role of Music Education”, “From the Classroom to the Stage: Professional Preparation for Emerging Musicians”, and “Island Challenges: Making a Music Festival on an Island”.

Menorca Groove is grateful for the support of the Fundació Foment de Turisme de Menorca, Instituts d’Estudis d’Estudis de Menorca, the Instituts d’Estudis Baleàrics and Estrella Damm as well as the collaboration of the Ajuntament de Maó for making this 8th edition possible.
