MS OBAMA’s new single is out!

Today, Thursday, March 19th, MS OBAMA’s new single, “2C-B,” will be released. It’s the second preview of the new artistic phase that the Valencian artist, raised in London and now based in Barcelona, has recently begun.

Following ‘Roller Coaster’, MS OBAMA continues to explore a rawer, more performative, and provocative sonic universe, and in “2C-B” he delves deep into the aesthetics of club and rave culture with a dark, visceral, and highly magnetic track. Musically, the single blends rave and club electronica, a driving bassline, and a tense energy reminiscent of Die Antwoord’s industrial rawness alongside the sharp elegance of Azealia Banks’ club rap.

Conceptually, “2C-B” functions as a satire on the self-mythologizing of nightlife. From an exaggerated and dominant alter ego, MS OBAMA takes the imagery of clubbing, luxury, and excess to the extreme, questioning how pleasure, consumption, and social validation intertwine in the nightlife ecosystem. “I wanted to push that imagery to the extreme to show how grotesque and empty it can be when desire becomes a business,” explains the artist.

The result is a two-minute club banger, both tense and elegant, oscillating between euphoria and emptiness while solidifying MS OBAMA’s new sonic direction: a territory where dark electronica, rave culture, performative attitude, and cultural critique coexist in a single artistic gesture.

‘2C-B’ is the second single from the new musical identity that MS OBAMA has begun to develop: a rawer and more direct, more performative and provocative one, with which she dares to look her angels and demons in the face.

MS OBAMA’s new artistic phase is beginning to take shape. Following the path inaugurated with ‘Roller Coaster’, which immerses us in a sonic universe where the visceral, the dark, the powerful, and the divine coexist, the Valencian artist now delivers a second piece that consolidates her new musical direction: one that is much more raw, direct, performative, and provocative.

‘2C-B’, her new single, once again brings to the forefront issues such as power and identity, but this time framing them within the hedonistic atmosphere of club culture. Narrated from a dominant position, appropriating the codes of desire, money, and fame, it is a rather dark satire on how pleasure, consumption, and social validation intertwine in clubbing, establishing a very blurred boundary between self-objectification and empowerment.

Assuming an exaggerated, powerful, and sexualized alter ego, MS OBAMA portrays in ‘2C-B’ the contrast between the euphoria and emptiness of the club scene. The sensual and confident tone of her voice combines with the forcefulness of its musical structure, which draws from club culture and, above all, rave. The entire track is then structured around a reinforced bassline that allows the vocals to unleash their full aggressive energy without needing to attack, resulting in a two-minute bombshell that leaves you wondering if it has already exploded or is about to. Like the flammable industrial artifact that it is, ‘2C-B’ is full of tension and rawness, like Die Antwoord’s songs, but also elegance and precision, like Azealia Banks’ style. Light and shadow, euphoria and emptiness. This is MS OBAMA’s new path, the one she has chosen to express herself artistically and to confront her angels and demons.
