Ryanair, Valencia’s top airline, has set the stage for an unprecedented summer in 2024 with the announcement of its extensive schedule, marking a significant milestone in the region’s aviation industry. With 64 routes in total, including 6 new destinations, Valencia’s summer air travel landscape is poised for a remarkable transformation.
The highlight of Ryanair’s summer 2024 initiative is the addition of 6 new routes: Ancona, Birmingham, Sofia, Verona, Warsaw, and Wroclaw. The airline is set to base two new aircrafts in Valencia, bringing the total fleet to 9 by this summer. This decision entails a $200 million investment and the creation of over 60 high-paying jobs for pilots and cabin crew. The airline’s dedication to growth and future investment in Valencia is further underscored by its total investment of $900 million in the region, supporting a workforce of 4,000 individuals, including pilots, cabin crew, and engineering personnel.
The summer 2024 schedule anticipates a 19% increase in traffic, welcoming an estimated 3.5 million passengers to Valencia. This surge in air travel not only enhances Valencia’s connectivity but also contributes significantly to the region’s economic vitality and tourism sector.
Elena Cabrera, Country Manager of Ryanair in Spain, expressed the airline’s enthusiasm for the expanded summer schedule, emphasising its role in bolstering Valencia’s tourism growth and connectivity. With over 35 million passengers served at Valencia Airport to date, Ryanair remains steadfast in its commitment to providing affordable and accessible travel options for Valencian citizens and visitors alike.
