SPLENDINI BAR i DISCOS (TAPAS, BEERS & VINTAGE VINYL RECORDS)

1.José, tell us a little about your experience in the world of music…
From 1999 to 2011, I ran ‘Discos Mardigras!’ in Valencia. Among other activities, I organized concerts of international artists of black music in different clubs of Valencia and as a DJ in many clubs including events throughout Spain. From 2014 to 2017, I had a space for the record shop inside the ‘Cracovia Bar’. In 2017, I opened ‘Splendini Bar i Discos’ with Jordi Belenguer.

2.What kind of music can we find and listen to in Splendini?
You can find Afro-American music of the last 6 decades; Jazz, Soul, Blues, R & B, Hip-Hop, Funk, Brazil and Latin grooves. Also a little pop and rock.

3.Tell us about your monthly activities

The activities we have are presentations of books and events and DJ sessions.

4.What kind of food and drink can you enjoy?
We have a wide range of drinks, craft beers from Tyris and Zeta, TURIA Märzen and good wines. You can savour our ‘Russian Salad’ and ‘Pastrami’ sandwiches. In addition, all our tapas and sandwiches are homemade and lovingly prepared.

5. Do you have any plans for the future?

That people continue to enjoy our Bar. On Friday, December 14th of 2018 we celebrated our 1st Anniversary with an English DJ friend, Mick H. A true standard of the ‘Rare Soul’ & ‘Northern Soul’ scene.
