Gustavo Gimeno returns to the Palau de les Arts to direct ‘Petrushka’ and ‘Le sacre du printemps’  (The Rite of Spring) by Stravinsky.

– The Valencian conductor enters the Russian repertoire for the first time with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana on Saturday 7th March.

– Gustavo Gimeno offers with the OCV this same program on Sunday 8th March in the Auditori de Castelló.

Gustavo Gimeno is conducting Igor Stravinski’s ‘Petrushka’ and ‘Le sacre du printemps’ (The Rite of Spring) at the Auditorium of the Palau de les Arts on Saturday the 7th of March as part of the ‘Les Arts és Simfònic’ programme.

The Valencian conductor returns to Les Arts after nine months, when he closed the symphony season with Mahler’s ‘Ninth Symphony’, which was sold out. On this occasion, he conducted the Russian repertoire for the first time in the Auditori, in a new collaboration with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana.

Currently, Gustavo Gimeno is the musical director of the Luxembourg Philharmonic and as of the 2020-2021 season, and for a period of five years, he will assume the title of the Toronto Symphony, thus becoming the first Valencian to accept the challenge of conducting a large orchestra in North America.

The Palau de les Arts is programming two reference works in the ballet repertoire at the Auditori: ‘Petrushka’, in his 1947 arrangement, and ‘Le sacre du printemps’, both composed by Igor Stravinski, in the same month that the National Dance Company premieres ‘Carmen’.

The concert, which is being held this Saturday on MARCH 7th at the Auditori de Les Arts of Valencia at 7 pm, costs between 30 and 45 euros.
