This is the third taste of their upcoming studio album BLISS, available June 26 via V2 Records. The band ‘Temples’ will perform on Friday, May 29 at the Spring Festival in Alicante, on Saturday the 30th at Festival Maig in Santa Coloma de Queralt (Tarragona), and will return in November for a tour of venues that will take them to Madrid, Zaragoza, Granada, Seville, Bullas (Murcia) and Barcelona.

Temples present “Blue Flame,” a new preview of their upcoming studio album BLISS, which will be released on June 26 via V2 Records. With this new track, the band from Kettering continues to push the boundaries of their sonic universe, exploring new electronic directions without abandoning the psychedelic and melodic DNA that has made them one of the most unique bands of their generation.

Following the excellent reception of the previous advances, “Jet Stream Heart” and “Vendetta,” praised by media such as NME, The Times and Clash, “Blue Flame” showcases a more ethereal and cinematic side of the band. Built on enveloping atmospheres and dreamlike soundscapes, the song once again demonstrates Temples’ ability to combine emotion, experimentation, and pop sensibility.

About the song, the band themselves explain: “We took refuge from the elements, connecting more with technology than with nature. ‘Blue Flame’ is a cautionary tale about separation, both between us as human beings and with the world at large.”

The new album marks an exciting new chapter after Exotico (2023) and finds Temples reinterpreting their psych-rock roots through the prism of late 90s and early 2000s dance music. Drawing inspiration from the euphoric melancholy of the Ibiza scene and European electronica, BLISS takes emotional and sonic references from artists such as Faithless, Underworld, Massive Attack and Portishead.

The band defines the spirit of the album as a form of “melancholic euphoria”: seemingly simple structures capable of generating complex and profound emotions. Unlike Exotico, where they worked with producer Sean Ono Lennon, this time Temples decided to take charge of the album’s production themselves, opting for a more intuitive, direct, and experimental approach. Working together in the same space, they used samplers and sound manipulation processes not to reinterpret outside material, but to reconstruct their own songs and create a cohesive and constantly transforming sonic universe.

The result is an album with a collage spirit, interconnected, where textures and musical motifs flow between songs and reinforce the immersive feel of BLISS. The band performs on Friday, May 29 at the Spring Festival in Alicante, on Saturday the 30th at Festival Maig in Santa Coloma de Queralt (Tarragona), and in November they will tour venues in Madrid (17th, Teatro Eslava), Zaragoza (18th, Sala López), Granada (19th, Sala Aliatar), Seville (20th, Sala X), Bullas (21st, Antioxidante), and Barcelona (22nd, Paral.lel 62) (see all details here).
