THE CITY OF VALENCIA HOSTS THE 7TH SUMA LEAGUE REGATTA ON MARCH 26th!

The SUMA Mediterranean Fixed Bench League, organised by the Rowing Federation of the Valencia Region in collaboration with SUMA Gestión Tributaria, continues its course with the celebration of the VII Regatta. The Club Remo Ciudad de Valencia is the host of this event, which will be held on Sunday 26 March at the facilities of the Port of Valencia. More than 550 athletes will take part in a regatta that will be disputed under the Falucho Llaüt Valencià modality, an original style of Levantine rowing in which each boat is made up of eight rowers and a coxswain. The SUMA League is thus celebrating the seventh of the eleven days scheduled for the competition. The general classification is very close, so every stroke counts and the excitement will be maintained until the end.

The regatta will see the participation of six categories, belonging to a wide range of ages and groups. The child, cadet, veteran and SCM (made up of people who have overcome breast cancer) will complete a 700 metre course and make a tack. The youth and absolute groups will have to cover 1,400 metres and tackle three tacks. The race will also include mixed groups of children and cadets; and several promotional categories. The day starts at 9:00 a.m. and will last throughout the morning. The absolute and veteran groups are the most numerous, with 20 and 35 teams respectively. Each category will have a single heat and the final classification will be established by finishing times.

The public has the opportunity to enjoy the spectacle of rowing in a privileged setting, such as La Marina de Valencia, and will be able to follow the development of the event from different points. The regatta is held inside the Port, so the proximity of the participants to the boats is very close.

The sixteen clubs participating in the VI Regatta of the Mediterranean SUMA Fixed Bench League are Club Náutico Alicante Costa Blanca, Club Náutico Altea, Club Náutico Benidorm, Club Náutico Campello, Club Náutico Santa Pola, Club Rem Cía Gandía, Club Rem Denia, Real Club Náutico Denia, Club Remo Torrevieja, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Valencia, Club de Remo Ciudad de Valencia, Real Club Náutico Gandía, Real Club Náutico Torrevieja, Real Club Regatas Alicante, Secció Esportiva Universitat d’Alacant, Club Deportivo de Mar Clot de L’Illot El Campello and Club de Remo Carthago Boga-Santa Lucía.
