VALENCIA GETS IN THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® FOR ‘COLLECTIVE LUNCH’ AT THE CASAL VIVEROS MAHOU!

The feat took place on Saturday 28 September in the Viveros Gardens. Attendees were able to enjoy the gastronomic offerings of bars such as Bar Mistela, Grupo Gastro Trinquet, La Mar de Flaca, Nuevo Oslo, La Mesedora, Hundred and Bar Cassalla. In addition, throughout the weekend the Casal Viveros Mahou offers an agenda full of musical, cultural and leisure experiences. Valencia, 28 September 2024. Valencia has become the city of lunches par excellence by setting this Saturday 28 September the historic GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® for a multitudinous lunch. The initiative, promoted by Mahou and Grupo Comboi, took place from 9:30h until 12h, where the ‘esmorzar’, the soul of the Valencian gastronomic tradition, was the centre of attention during this unprecedented event. Attendees had the opportunity to take part in this historic feat, enjoying a selection of sandwiches offered by renowned local bars.

Participants were able to sample the  juicy cow sandwich with potatoes, courtesy of Bar Mistela…or the ham sandwich with bacon…Castellón goat’s cheese sauce and cacau del collaret, prepared by the Gastro Trinquet Group. La Mar de Flaca surprised with its speciality, the ‘Pepelu de Denia’, made with figatells, confit pepper, battered aubergine and Viciano sauce.

For its part, Nuevo Oslo presented its baked loin sandwich with parmentier with Provencal herbs, while La Mesedora offered its creation, the ‘Joselito’, a sandwich of grated tomato, red onion, sausage, bacon and mayo.

In addition, Hundred and Bar Cassalla joined forces to create “the first burger that you can eat for lunch”, a smash burger accompanied by scamorza affumicata, provolone, caramelised onion, potatoes and ‘sobrassada’ (Mallorcan sausage).

The event took place in the Casal Viveros Mahou, a space open all weekend and free for visitors, where you can enjoy a great gastronomic offer offered by different foodtrucks, beer experiences with tastings paired with the unmistakable flavour of Mahou and draught workshops. The agenda includes numerous leisure activities, as well as live music with concerts by Veintiuno, Pol 3.14, Marlon, and the Valencians Badlands and Santero y los Muchachos, among others.

With this initiative, Mahou continues to strengthen its ties with the city of Valencia, promoting events that combine quality and tradition, and supporting celebrations that share with the brand the creation of unique moments to savour and enjoy.
