##The Montanejos Cheese Fair 2021, which will be the 6th edition, will be held in the town centre of the Alto Mijares town on the weekend of Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd October.

This year 13 cheese dairies from the Valencian Community and 4 guests from other Spanish regions will be present, cheese dairies that together with other local products, such as wines and beers from the Comunitat Valenciana, will participate in the market with stands and products to taste and purchase, a fair that will also have an extensive programme of activities.

13 cheese dairies from the Valencia Region will be taking part: Arte Láctico Caprino (Chiva, Valencia), Los Corrales (Almedíjar, Castellón), El Pastor de Morella (Morella, Castellón), La Vaquería del Camp d ́Elx (Elche, Alicante), El de Sereix (Mutxamel, Alicante), Tot de Poble (Les Coves de Vinromà, Castellón), La Planeta (Enroig, Castellón), San Antonio (Callosa d ́en Sarrià, Alicante), Granja Rinya (Albal, Valencia), Quesos de Catí Cooperativa V (Catí, Castellón), Hoya de la Iglesia (Requena, Valencia), Masía Els Masets (La Torre d’́en Besora, Castellón) and Granja El Parral (Barxeta, Valencia), as well as guest cheese dairies from other Spanish regions such as La Zarcillera (Zarzilla de Ramos, Murcia), Quesos d’Estrebilla (Valsalada, Huesca) and Mas Claperol (Girona). There will also be a French cheese stand with Charcuterías Manglano.

Tickets for tastings at the stands are already available for sale on the website https://www.feriaquesomontanejos.com/venta-tickets-feria-21-3/ as well as tickets for the wine tastings and showcookings. In the case of the tastings at the stands, for 10 euros you get 12 tasting tickets for 1 euro, which you can exchange at the entrance to the fair.

The organisers remind you that, due to the Covid-19 theme, this year the capacity is limited, so don’t sleep and make sure you get your place at the biggest artisan cheese event in the Valencian Community.

All the activities will be carried out following the health and hygiene recommendations: obligatory use of masks, social distance and capacity control.

Although access to the fair is free, as stated in an article in informacion.es, and that this year it has been extended to separate the tents and have more areas for tasting, the official website of the fair indicates that it will be necessary to have tickets to enter the enclosure, in addition to the fact that there will be capacity control and all the sanitary measures (that is why it is recommended to buy tickets in advance and avoid surprises).

11:30h – 12:00h. Visit by the authorities.
12:00h – 12:30h. Presentation of the Association of Cheese Makers of the Valencian Community.
13:00h – 14:00h. Showcooking. Appetizers of Valencian Artisan Cheese + D.O. wines of the C.V. and I.G.P. of Castellón (PROAVA). José Bas – Quesommelier of Charcuval and advisor of La Majada Quesos. Venue: Villa Purificación.

16:00h – 17:00h. Prize-giving ceremony for the winning cheeses at the VI Montanejos 2021 Artisan Cheese Fair.
