WAYCO COWORKING LAUNCHES THE THIRD EDITION OF ITS GRANT FOR FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS IN VALENCIA

With International Women’s Day just passed, the Valencian coworking space WayCO reminds us that the fight against workplace gender inequality is not yet over. To combat these disparities, WayCO seeks to support businesswomen by launching the third edition of their scholarship for female entrepreneurs in Valencia. The company’s director, Nacho Cambralla, explains that this movement aims to “promote the development of projects founded by women in the province of Valencia, thus helping to change the employment landscape”.

WayCO is the leading operator of coworking spaces and flexible offices in Valencia, offering a place to work for companies, self-employed professionals, and digital nomads. After opening its doors in 2013, its facilities now cover more than 3,000m2 of workspaces, private offices, modern meeting rooms and event spaces. Its facilities welcome a diverse range of members from over 20 different countries and more than 10 sectors, hosting more than 50 companies in their premises. There are currently two coworking centres located in the affluent neighbourhoods of Abastos and Ruzafa and another space is set to open in Cabanyal in April.

In the plight against gender disparities in the workplace, WayCO launches the third edition of its grant for women entrepreneurs in Valencia. The project presentation phase opened on March 21, and it will end on March 31. Under this scheme, the company will provide a grant to three different female entrepreneurs, offering each of them two workspaces until the end of 2023 which will support the development of their business activity. In this third edition, the members of the jury will be Cristina Argente, director of EVAP, Association of Businesswomen and Professionals of Valencia; Irene Milián, CEO of the Brandea school and strategic consultant in personal branding; Sonia Arenas, financial analyst at Innoventures Capital; and Mariola Marcet, winner of the WayCO 2022 scholarship, founder and CEO of the sustainable fashion platform Upcyclick.

In addition to this grant, which has already benefited 6 projects, WayCO organises other actions in the field of gender equality such as ‘The Women’s Wagon’. In this quarterly event, success stories of Valencian businesswomen are presented, delving into the challenges and obstacles they face as entrepreneurs.
