##Fira De Juliol returns to Valencia from June 24th to August 5th. An amusement fun fair within Turia Park, just by the Bridge Of Flowers, has been set up in honour of over 150 years of tradition. Whilst a lot of the original traditions have been lost over time, the celebrations live on and this time in the form of sugar-filled snacks, flashing lights and stomach-flipping rides.
There is something here for everyone, traditional bumper cars, a giant Ferris Wheel overlooking the city and the classic “scream if you want to go faster” rides which spin you in everywhere imaginable. There is a modern take on the classic Haunted House where riders wear a virtual reality headset (and yes, we did get scared!)
Piping hot corn on the cob is served from a BBQ grill whilst other vendors provide hot dogs, burgers and fries. Everywhere you look, brightly coloured candy-floss and sweets line stalls along with prizes to be won. Traditional games like hook-a-duck, shoot-the-can and popping balloons with darts taught the fairgoers too.
The fair opens daily at 6:30pm until 12:30am and is free to access. Rides are pay per play, with most accepting card payments.
