During the first day of Momentos Alhambra in Valencia, attendees will be able to enjoy the art of Baiuca, a project born from Alejandro Guillán’s homesickness for Galicia after moving to Madrid. That nostalgia resulted in a first album titled ‘Solpor’ and released in 2018, which combined electronics with the sounds of Galician tradition. Baiuca digs into roots, rhythms and ancient percussions, combining them with sophisticated electronics. On May 7th she released her second album, ‘Embruxo’, a collection of musical rituals that incite us to dance and for which she has counted on the collaboration of artists such as Rodrigo Cuevas, Lilaina, Cristian Silva and Xoxé Lois Romero.

Baiuca will be joined by another Galician, Manuel González, a musician from Santiago de Compostela known as Ortiga, who started his career seven years ago with a danceable and carefree proposal, halfway between verbena, salsa and merengue. Between 2017 and 2018 he was part of the duo Esteban and Manuel, fathers of ‘cumbiatune’. When the partnership dissolved, Manuel continued under the name Ortiga, getting his breakthrough in festivals and releasing in 2019 a very danceable album titled ‘Chicho & Sus Chichas’. His combination of autotune and Latin rhythms is a winning bet, and his live shows are a guarantee of a party.

Finally, at the end of July it will be the turn of composer and singer-songwriter José González, of Argentine parents and born in Sweden, the country where he reaped his first successes thanks to his mix of autumnal indie and intimate acoustic tunes. He has been a member of several bands and musical collectives since the 90s, experimenting with sounds ranging from hardcore to atmospheric pop. At the same time, he has given free rein for his solo interests, releasing three albums to date. In 2021 he has released two singles, one of them in Spanish, which will be part of his next album: ‘Local Valley’.
