The church of Sant Nicolau de Bari and Sant Pere Màrtir  (‘Iglesia de San Nicolás de Bari y San Pedro Mártir’) is a historically highlighted church in Valencia and you can enjoy a great light show when you pay a visit. ‘Iglesia de San Nicolas’ was built by the Christian conquistadors in the 13th century and has undergone much renovation. Even through multiple additions and technological upgrades, the space has kept its gothic structure and significance.

The parish was nicknamed “the Valencian Sistine Chapel” for its 2000 square metre illustratively painted ceiling. The work of art thoroughly depicts the life of both Saint Nicolas and Saint Peter, with cherubs and biblical inscriptions as symbolic support.

Iglesia de San Nicolas has opened a light show labelled “La Luz de San Nicolás”. The lights display is about 20 minutes long with pure immersion through lights and surround sound. The show runs approximately every hour that the parish is open to the public.

Visit Iglesia de San Nicolas sometime to experience “La Luz de San Nicolas” yourself. Open on Tuesday-Fridays from 10:30h-19:00h and Saturday-Sundays with different extended hours. Make sure to check their website before visiting for ticket prices and specific hours on your day.
