‘Idiosincrasia’ exhibition by J. Miguel Guillén at ‘Las Cervezas del Mercado’ in Mercado de Colón!

The ‘Idiosincrasia’ exhibition by J. Miguel Guillén brings together a collection of nearly twenty of his illustrations, displayed in Valencia for the first time, at ‘Las Cervezas del Mercado’ by BWK in Colón.

Since his training at the Escuela de Arte Superior de Diseño, J. Miguel Guillén has focused on building his own voice as an illustrator, and in his new exhibition, Guillén is displaying his most representative works that reflect the artistic project that he has developed in recent years which continues to grow.

Characterised by a careful balance of composition, each piece of artwork has a very recognisable colour palette, which begins from a black silhouette. Guillén then adds textures and colours to that silhouette which makes the final collage so fun and iconic. “The themes come from my imagination, they are recurring elements in my drawings and illustrations since I was a child,” explains the illustrator about his works, with references to nature, the sea, everyday elements or figures, evoking a feeling of fantasy and make-believe.

The art exhibition is taking place in ‘Las Cervezas del Mercado’ by BWK in Colón. Bierwinkel has been the European beer import and distribution company par excellence in Spain since 1992, and today they work intensively in the introduction and commercialisation of craft beers from the Valencian Community.
