‘MOSTRA DE VALÈNCIA-CINEMA DEL MEDITERRANI’ is a meeting for film lovers, both experts and amateurs, where the public and creators meet to enjoy a specially selected programme with the aim of bringing them high-quality films that are not usually found on the commercial circuits. The programming of the Mostra is also specific to a geographic and cultural space as defining the unique identity of the Mediterranean; a diverse and plural space, as enriching as it is tragic; a source of inspiration for artistic production, full of contradictions, challenges, clashes, hopes and a future to be defined. The ‘Official Section’ features films from Spain, Iran, Kosovo, Tunisia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Italy, Portugal, France, Israel and Algeria.

‘THE TOWER OF SILENCE’, BY MOHAMED AOUAD
Aouad writes and directs this short film about a young Moroccan boy who lives alone on his parents’ farm. After a meal, his family discovers that the aftermath of his past goes beyond anything they could have imagined.
LA VEILLE DU VOLCAN’, BY ABANOUD YOUSSEF
Three parallel stories come to us from Tunisia, a long-awaited anger, oppressed people… But when conscience awakens, there is only one path to take: the path of rage, the path of the volcano. Waiting for the next African revolution, the next volcano.
DESCENT INTO LIMBO BY MARIA GHOSH
The arrival and behaviour of three people from the city who rent a cabin in the countryside in Lebanon disrupts the lives of a pair of brothers who live there, and who will be plunged into a tragic relationship with them.
THE LAST TELEGRAPH OPERATOR’, BY PABLO SÁNCHEZ
Routine, uselessness and monotony are the last of the army’s telegraph corps. Everything will change when the world plunges back into war and this department is the last front available for battle.
