Kestutis Vaiginis is one of the most internationally renowned Lithuanian saxophonists and composers.

After completing his studies in Holland and the United States, he has shared ambitious projects and recorded his five albums released to date with international figures such as David Berkman, Ed Howard, Alex Sipiagin, Dave Kikoski, Dave Allen, Linda Oh, Al Di Meola or Donald Edwards among others.

He has toured and participated in major festivals such as North Sea Jazz festival, London Jazz festival, Ottawa Jazz, Cape Town Jazz festival (Republic of South Africa), Panama World Music Festival, Glasgow Jazz festival, Paris Jazzy Colors festival, Tokyo Jazz festival, Istanbul Jazz festival or the Hong Kong Jazz festival.

Saxophonist Steve Wilson described Vaiginis’ album Unexpected Choices as “a unique album”.

Another project of his, Strings & Air, recorded with Grammy-winning guitarist Hernan Romero, fuses jazz with flamenco and elements of classical and contemporary.
Vaiginis plays soprano and tenor saxophones as well as flute. He has received numerous awards, such as the Grand Prix Birstonas Jazz Festival, awarded by the most important jazz festival in Lithuania, and the Europamusicale, from the hands of Germany’s President Joachim Gauch, in 2013.
