BRUT & NATURE SEXTET

Ricardo Curto, piano
Kako Rubio, trombone
Jesús Núñez, alto saxophone
Santi Peláez, guitar
Chevi Martínez, double bass
Sebastián Laverde, drums
Brut & Nature returns to the Jimmy Glass Jazz Bar after the pandemic hiatus. Originally formed by double bassist and leader Chevi Martínez, pianist Ricardo Curto, trombonist Kako Rubio, guitarist Santi Peláez and drummer Sebastian Laverde, in September 2019 they expanded the line-up with the introduction of alto saxophonist Jesús Núñez. Unusual melodic moments are mixed with daring improvisations and informal structures to with songs by Andrew Hill, William Parker, Matana Roberts or Chevi Martínez himself. An unusual repertoire. ‘Brut & Nature Sextet’, with their uninhibited way of interpreting jazz, transgress the limits of the accepted norms…and with no regrets!
