Mahou, the Spanish brewery, has announced the release of a new song ‘València’ by ‘Santero y Los Muchachos’. The release of the song is a part of Mahou’s ongoing commitment to local communities and is all about Valencian culture, music, and fallas. This song is a key part of the ‘La música enciende las Fallas’ campaign which strives to make deeper connections between music and the annual Fallas Festival.
Presented on February 27th during an “immersive sound experience” attended by 150 people, the song was accompanied by expressive visuals and delivered through personal headphones to each attendee.
‘Valencia’ brings together a wonderful collaboration of local talents. The piece was created by Santero y Los Muchachos, and features the Young Symphonic Band of the Federation of Musical Societies of the Valencian Community, under the direction of Carlos Martín. It also included vocals by Travis Birds and sound engineering by Manuel Tomás. The song fuses traditional Valencian music with the personal style of the community and its creation was extremely well-received.
Fallas is a time when music is heard all over Valencia as it is a time to celebrate. This song serves as an emotional project that captures the spirit of Fallas throughout the city.
Mahou has taken its commitment a step further and announced that a portion of the proceeds from the song will be donated to local music societies that were affected by the October 2024 flood. This generous initiative will help the music scene recover from disaster, reinforcing Mahou’s commitment to the community.
‘València’ is now available for streaming on Spotify, offering listeners an opportunity to experience this tribute to Valencian music and the spirit of Fallas.
