# MASTERCHEF FINALIST AT ‘MI CUB’ PRESENTS THE ‘MOLLETE DE EMBUTIDO VALENCIANO’ (VALENCIAN SAUSAGE SANDWICH)

– The recipe, created by Toni Carceller, reinterprets the traditional ‘blanc i negre’ sandwich with llavoretes sausage and Palanca black pudding.

– This event is part of “Las cuatro estaciones de la terreta” (The four seasons of the land), an initiative that values Valencian products.

Mi Cub, the gastronomic space of the Mercado de Colón, based on product and proximity cuisine, has presented this morning a new sandwich, the “Mollete Valenciano”, which promises to become an essential of the house and whose main ingredient is a 100% Valencian hamburger, inspired by the traditional combination of the ‘blanc i negre’ (with 80% longaniza de llavoretes and 20% onion black pudding). Toni Carceller, finalist of the TV programme MasterChef España, was also the master of ceremonies, in charge of preparing the recipe for this mollete, made with a broad bean mayonnaise and pickled onion and served on bread made by Jesús Machi.

“For me the blanc i negre is one of the star Valencian sandwiches, so eating this mollete is synonymous with tasting our tradition. I like the intense flavour of the llavoretes sausage and onion black pudding and its contrast with the smooth touch of the broad bean mayonnaise and the crunchy acidity of the pickled onion”.

The meat preparation bears the unmistakable seal of quality of Palanca Carnissers (Central Market). In fact, as Natalia Estellés, from the emblematic butcher’s shop, explained, “the llavoretes sausage, the main ingredient of the hamburger, is made following a family formula that has been passed down from generation to generation. That is why it is a very special product for us, which we accompany with natural spices, and it is highly valued by our customers”.

With this original initiative, Mi Cub is once again committed to reinterpreting Valencian recipes that are always made with local, top-quality produce.

This Valencian mollete can be tasted as one more proposal in Mi Cub’s menu.

The Four Seasons of La Terreta
This action is part of ‘Las 4 Estaciones de la Terreta’. A series of gastronomic initiatives, set up by ‘Mi Cub’ to coincide with the different seasons of the year, and whose aim is none other than to give value to local and seasonal produce.
