The second single from their upcoming EP arrives on August 28 with an intimate concert in Valencia.Valencia, August 2026.  Overthinking—that spiral of thoughts that takes over and refuses to let go—has a new name on the Valencian music scene: “Rumiar”. The band Kiego y la Onlyfunk will release this single on August 28 in a double format: digitally on all streaming platforms and live at la Vitti (Plaza Xúquer, 3 – Algirós) at 8:00 PM.. The track, written by vocalist and guitarist Diego Olivares Valdebenito (Kiego) during his time in southern Chile, deals with social pressure, expectations, and that feeling of not fitting into a world that demands more and more.

“Rumiar isn’t just a song; it’s a way to put a name to what happens to us when our minds won’t stop,” explains Kiego. “I was in the countryside, isolated, and the thoughts wouldn’t leave. The song captures that downward spiral, that moment when you feel out of place.” The chorus puts it bluntly: “and they’re trash, bouncing non-stop like an echo, oh I don’t want to ruminate”. A line that has already become a shared chant during the band’s jam sessions.

The composition reflects that unease in its harmonic structure: a descending chromatic cadence that mimics a fall, a musical device that takes the listener to that state of restlessness the lyrics speak of. Recorded between Chile and Valencia (drums and bass at Vivaro Studios, Santiago; guitars and vocals at La Semilla Studios, Valencia), the track was produced, mixed, and mastered by Kiego himself. The studio version, however, isn’t the only one audiences will hear. The band has prepared a more vibrant and funky live version, set to be released on social media the same week as the premiere, bearing the unmistakable signature touch of la Onlyfunk. “It sounds one way in the studio, but live it’s a different story. La Onlyfunk gives it a twist, makes it more danceable, more ours,” says the musician.

“Rumiar”: the journey continues

 “Rumiar” is the second single from the EP Kiego is preparing, a body of work that explores the period leading up to his migration to Spain. “It speaks of distances, heartache, letting go, everything that brought me here. It’s a journey, like migration itself,” he explains. The EP promises to be a first-person account of uprooting, encounter, and reconstruction. The themes of migration and mental health are intertwined in the band’s vision. The group is made up entirely of immigrant musicians: Mariano Mosca (drums, Argentina), Cristhian Rodríguez (bass, Venezuela), Luis Tobía (percussion and backing vocals, Venezuela, Cumaná), and Kiego (vocals and guitar, Chile). “We understand what it means to migrate because we’ve lived it. Music is the space where we turn that experience into rhythm and into questions,” says the vocalist.

An intimate concert to kick off the season

 The event at la Vitti is not just any concert. The venue, known for its intimate atmosphere and live music programming, will be the perfect setting for an electric yet intimate show, with all four musicians sharing the stage. “We want people to feel at home, to fill the space with that energy that only happens when music is shared in a small setting,” adds Kiego. The concert, lasting approximately one hour, will include special versions of their own songs and a few surprises the band is keeping under wraps. Tickets available in advance and at the door.
