#The organisation of the World Design Capital Valencia 2022 has presented their official programme for the event next year. With more than 100 activities, 150 top speakers, 70 collaborations and 25 venues, this programme verifies that this is more than an event but rather a milestone in the history of the city.

Valencia will have its own programme for every month running from January to December 2022. A lot of the events included in the programme will be aligned with important events that are held in the city, to capture the culture and history of Valencia. The programme also coordinates with all of the ecosystem agencies across Spain… who will programme activities and events from their regions.

The programme for the Valencia World Capital of Design 2022 will include one hundred events, including interventions, congresses, and professional meetings alongside exhibitions. The events cover all disciplines of design and focus on 6 strategic elements: health and well-being, design, economy and innovation, heritage and identity, environmental sustainability, inclusion and diversity.

There will be seven “Signature Events” co-organised with the World Design Organisation, it can be expected the events will be bring around 130,000 visitors in 2022 and more than 100 top level international speakers.

The signature events will put the finishing touch on the commemoration of Valencia as World Design Capital 2022 with the presentation of the World Design Spotlight designed to promote local talent.

Its calendar of activities will take place partly in the old riverbed, that runs throughout the whole of the city. The events will be focused on creativity and promotion of its professionals by gathering Valencians and visitors alike through exhibitions, conferences, workshops, design routs or initiatives that allow connections to design.

The 2022 programme aims to put Valencia in the spotlight as the world capital of design, by recognising that in the Valencia Region, design contributes more than 4,000 million euros to its annual GDP. This helps promote Spain and its regions by proving a lever for its growth.

By multiplying the number of professional projects actions, interventions and exhibitions… the World Design Capital 2022 will cause a real positive impact on the social and economic fabrics of Valencia. This will boost opportunity for the city, especially through engagement with the public creating involvement with the local community.
