The Gómez family presents ‘Linaje’: a tribute to their father’s love for gastronomy

The ninth restaurant and fifth brand of the Valencian gastronomic group is set in a spacious three-story building on Convento Santa Clara Street, in the heart of Valencia. The figure of Paco Gómez inspires a restaurant where the focus lies on rice dishes, grilled meats, and fish, as well as family-oriented service and a dedicated children’s area. The elegant main dining room of Linaje, with the wine cellar on the right side.

Paco Gómez instilled a love for gastronomy in his sons, José and Marcos. He did so alongside Amparo, of course, but he is no longer here to see what his descendants have built. The Gómez family is one of the most ambitious hospitality groups in Valencia, with more than nine restaurants spread throughout the city and up to five established brands. Linaje, Casa Paco Gómez will be the ninth to open. Located at 13 Convento Santa Clara Street and very close to some of the group’s most recognizable establishments, such as Los Gómez Correos, Puerta del Mar, and Gran Mercat, Linaje (which carries the nickname Casa Paco Gómez) is born as a project deeply linked to Valencian cuisine, seeking to reclaim pride in tradition.

For this hospitality family, nothing is more important than that which is passed from one generation to the next, starting with the values of the hospitality trade, such as hard work, honesty, or love for our own. All of these have been attributes defining this restaurant group since its beginnings in 1989 in La Pobla de Farnals. From that solid foundation, Linaje is born, symbolizing the restaurant Paco would have gone to. A place to find quality products, tradition, and attentive service, but where one can enjoy themselves without too much formality. On its menu, the main protagonists will once again be rice dishes, and grilled meats and fish. But of course, there is also the service, the hospitality, and the ability to gather the whole family around the table.
The aged picanha and marrow paella is one of the highlights of Linaje.

The cuisine at Linaje revolves around the Mediterranean pantry and the most authentic recipes. It is a proposal crafted with an increasing presence of products from the Gómez family’s own garden in La Pobla de Farnals. All of this can be enjoyed during wide operating hours with continuous kitchen service: Monday to Sunday, from 11:30 AM to midnight, allowing it to cater to the needs of any type of audience. On the menu, we find all kinds of rice dishes, starting with the classic Valencian paella, but also scampi and pork crackling paella, blue lobster paella, senyoret rice with turbot, and aged picanha and marrow paella, among others. In this sense, Linaje differentiates itself from other brands in the group through a more contemporary proposal and the distinctive touch of wood-fire cooking.

Furthermore, the grill occupies the other major spotlight. Diners can enjoy fish such as grilled sea bass, turbot “a la Donostiarra,” or baked cod, and meats such as grilled picanha, beef entrecôte, Rossini fillet with foie gras, or lamb rack. For those seeking cuts to share, the menu also includes Chateaubriand, aged beef T-bone, and aged beef cowboy ribeye.
Starters complete the proposal with dishes such as grilled scallops with foie gras, aged picanha carpaccio, Iberian ham and aged beef croquettes, calamari romanesca, cod fritters, grilled marrow, or broken eggs with Iberian ham. Finally, the menu is rounded off with a selection of traditional desserts, including: cheesecake, torrija with merengada milk ice cream, chocolate coulant, baked apple puff pastry, and egg flan.

One of the private dining rooms located in the restaurant’s basement.
For those who prefer it and want to take advantage of the opportunity, Linaje offers a daily menu from Monday to Friday, available from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM for 27.90 euros. The menu includes different options for starters, mains, and desserts, featuring rice, fish, and meat. Among the current offerings are Valencian paella, grilled vegetable rice, wood-fired baked rice, sea bass, turbot, Iberian pork cheek, or lamb rack, among others. Additionally, it is worth noting that Linaje offers the possibility of accommodating large groups, providing various special menus for corporate lunches, family celebrations, or special occasions. The group proposal maintains the restaurant’s identity.
Inside Paco Gómez’s home

Linaje is as welcoming as a home. In fact, it truly is: Paco Gómez’s home, where one can see photos of him alongside his children, his wife Amparo, and many friends and acquaintances. The restaurant is large, with a capacity of up to 178 diners per service spread across three floors. Once the diner enters the restaurant on the ground floor, a long bar leads to an open kitchen, where they can see part of the work happening on the other side. There, the selection of Iberian meats and beef, the work of the grill, and the rice dishes coming off the wood fire coexist. It is, in essence, a home with no secrets.

The first floor offers a more tranquil atmosphere, with a cocktail area. In the basement, there are two private rooms: the Salón Nano Díaz and the Salón Suegra Peris, designed for group lunches and dinners, meetings, and celebrations with special menus, especially for significant dates such as Christmas and other family or corporate celebrations. Furthermore, one of the unique features of the new establishment is that on this same floor, there is a room dedicated to the little ones, where they can play while their parents eat, because at Linaje, children are never a nuisance. The area features a ball pit, a small painting workshop, and a television for games, as well as an adapted bathroom. During weekends, staff members are in charge of looking after the children.

The restaurant was also created with the intention of being a space to share, both among friends and with family. Indeed, the vocation of Linaje goes beyond the menu itself. Linaje is a family story. A story that began around a table and continues today with Marcos and José Gómez at the helm of a new generation of Grupo Los Gómez.
