##24/7 VALENCIA: COULD YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT TOURISM IN VALENCIA?
AULA GRIAL…HOLY GRAIL MUSEUM OF VALENCIA:: “Excursion to Valencia on the occasion of the Jubilee Year 20-21” is an initiative of the tourism sector to help the city of Valencia.
Currently, visiting the centre of Valencia is an odyssey. Not only because in the middle of July it is impossible to access the closest places where the most emblematic sales take place (Central Market, Plaza Redonda or Ciutat Vella).
The very experience of visiting the Cathedral of Valencia in this Second Jubilee Year of the Holy Chalice is disappointing thanks to the untimely works of the beautiful Plaza de la Reina that will cost more than 11 and a half million euros.
This Tuesday, July 13, a possible solution to this dramatic situation was presented at 10.30 am in ‘Aula Grial’. From the civil society, synergies have been united and a very necessary initiative will be announced at this time for a large number of people who make a living from trade in the centre of Valencia: “Excursion to Valencia on the occasion of the Jubilee Year 20-21”.
It is a tourist product designed by people who collaborate in different areas.
Mr. Gustavo Ribeiro, Episcopal Delegate for the Pastoral of Tourism and Leisure of the Archbishopric of Valencia and Director of the Department of Pastoral of Tourism of the Spanish Episcopal Conference (CEE) was kind enough to visit the space dedicated to the Holy Chalice in the city of Valencia, Aula Grial, this past March. The visit was made together with Mr. Emiliano García, Councilor of Tourism of the City Council of Valencia. There he expressed to Dr. Ana Mafé García, president of the Cultural Association The Way of the Holy Grail and to Mrs. Alicia Palazón, content director of Aula Grial, the need to make the relic of the Holy Chalice known in the most dignified way possible to the greatest number of people this summer.
“Transvia Viajes”, from its department of Pilgrimages and Religious Tourism has wanted to take the baton of this initiative counting for it with each and every one of the people who have been working for Valencia for years in this sense. And together they have designed a dissemination strategy to publicize the Holy Chalice of the Cathedral of Valencia in the most dignified way possible.
“We want tourists who travel to our shores this summer to be able to access the centre of Valencia through a guided tour that minimizes the negative impact that it currently entails.” Dr. Mafé explained.
We believe that this initiative is vital so that the centre of Valencia does not die by pandemic, nor by municipal works during the hardest months of the year.
From the Cultural Association The Way of the Holy Grail we ask all those who can give maximum diffusion to fill the centre of Valencia with visitors and pilgrims.
This attractive initiative will be developed from the coastal parishes of Cullera, Denia, Gandia, Oliva and Javea through a calendar already set.
Our wish is that this summer all the parishes of the Archdiocese of Valencia join in to make the Holy Chalice known to the maximum number of those new residents who, for a few weeks, will enjoy their August vacations on our coasts. The people who are now suffering in Valencia due to the lack of tourists, will be very grateful.”
