WAY OF THE HOLY GRAIL ‘NINOT’ AWARD IN VALENCIA!

The commission fallera ‘Azcàrraga i Ferran el Catòlic’ will be awarded with the ‘Ninot Camino del Santo Grial Award’, promoted by the Asociación Cultural El Camino del Santo Grial on its 20th Anniversary, which will be celebrated throughout the year 2022 with different initiatives.

The Board of Directors of the Cultural Association of the Way of the Holy Grail toured this past Saturday the emblematic “Ninot Exhibition”, located in the Museu de les Ciències, on the ground floor of the Arquerías hall that hosts this exhibition with more than 750 ninots distributed in an open space along more than 3,600 square metres.

Thanks to Mr. Héctor González, journalist and president of the Professional Association of Valencian Journalists, Dr. Mafé mobilised Mr. Jesús Gimeno Peris, secretary of the Association, Mr. Alfonso Rubio and Mr. Rafael López, collaborators for the preparation of the 20th Anniversary, to attend the exhibition and start with the edition of this new award in the world of Fallas.

The Exhibition of the Ninot of the Fallas of Valencia is a gallery in which each Fallas artist chooses, from the children’s and adults’ monument, the most representative ninot or doll of their falla and presents it with the intention of making it the “Ninot Indultat”. In the same way, the Board of Directors of the Asociación Cultural El Camino del Santo Grial has looked for the ninot that represents the values of the Way of the Holy Grail, the Route of Knowledge, the Way of Peace. And so, after choosing a group of finalist ninots, it has chosen the work of the artist Cristian Garcia Carrasco, who participates in the children’s section of the Azcàrraga children’s falla, under the slogan ¡Açò pinta be!

The award ceremony will take place in the Fallas commission itself. In a symbolic act in which recognition and an economic contribution to the commission will be given.

“The symbolism of the ninots in the Fallas is a great opportunity for all of us to be ambassadors of the Way of the Holy Grail in Valencia”, says Dr. Mafé.

A path that has earned Aragon no less than 4 million euros in direct, upfront and non-refundable aid from the Next Generation funds thanks to the selfless work of Dr. Mafé. All this through the free transfer to the municipalities of Huesca and Teruel of her investment development project called the Integral Sustainable Strategic Plan for the Way of the Holy Grail.

The winning ninot is a tribute to the Way of the Holy Grail on its route from Huesca to Valencia. And this is represented by the pilgrim who carries her accreditation signed as “El Camí del Sant Grial”.

This sculpted ninot shows a young woman carrying a backpack that will help her on her journey along the way. Smiling, she walks in the direction of Valencia. In the leaflet, on one side you can see part of the route of the Way of the Holy Grail and on the other side the cover with the image of the Holy Chalice and “El Camí del Sant Grial” (The Way of the Holy Grail). On the chest, the Holy Chalice also appears in gold on the green jersey. A delight to inspire the little ones to travel through their land.

In the exhibition of this ninot, the Pilgrimage Credential that the Cultural Association The Way of the Holy Grail makes available to all pilgrims and walkers to be able to make this journey and get their diploma of Lady or Knight of the Way of the Holy Grail was attached for photographs. A whole experience of knowledge that no one should miss.

In this exhibition it has been possible to appreciate the interest that begins to arouse the Way of the Holy Grail through the figure of the pilgrims and walkers. Different pilgrims have been identified as represented by the ninots, from the most modernist and futuristic to the classics, as in the case of the Azcárraga falla.

It was created with the aim of rewarding those ninots that have been able to transmit a series of attractions, in reference to the Way of the Holy Grail, the Route of Knowledge, the Way of Peace. A route that runs along its main axis from the Pyrenees to the city of Valencia for some 620 km in about 25 stages, depending on who decides to do it.
