Accompanied on the piano by Pepe Rivero, Alba Molina will perform unforgettable songs by the legendary duo, such as ‘La mariposa’ and ‘Un nuevo día’. Tickets for the last flamenco event of the season have a single price of 30 euros. Alba Molina closes the ‘Les Arts és Flamenco’ cycle this Friday, the 19th of May, with ‘Nuevo día’, a tribute to her parents ‘Lole and Manuel’, the legendary duo that laid the foundations for new flamenco with their debut record in the 1970s.

The singer from Seville, accompanied on piano by Pepe Rivero, will include unforgettable songs like ‘La mariposa’ and ‘Un nuevo día’ in her performance at the Teatre Martín i Soler, in a new version that, without losing the essence and the original duende of the brilliant couple, has new nuances and some touches of ‘jazz’.

This is not the first time that Alba Molina visits the musical legacy of her parents, to whom she already dedicated a trilogy recorded between 2015 and 2019. Nuevo día’ borrows its name from the legendary album with which Lole and Manuel burst onto the music scene in 1975. The LP, a best-seller at the time, was an aesthetic revolution of the genre, both in its interpretations and its lyrics.

Nuevo día’ prolongs the renovating current of Alba Molina’s music, a conjunction of jazz melodies fused with flamenco, which she already reflected in her album ‘El beso’ (2020).

After travelling the world as a model, Alba Molina turned to music. Her debut album was ‘Despasito’ and her godparents were her father, Manuel Molina, and Alejandro Sanz. With it she won recognition as a revelation artist at the Premios de la Música (Music Awards). Later, she formed part of the group Las Niñas and sang with Navajita Plateá ‘Noches de bohemia’, which, along with ‘No puedo quitar mis ojos de ti’, is among her greatest hits.

Tickets for Alba Molina’s concert, which will be the last event in the ‘Les Arts és Flamenco’ cycle this season and there is a single ticket price of 30 euros.
