Starting today, the Gran Vía Germanías restaurant opens at 9:30 a.m. with a unique proposal of grilled brunches starting from just 7.50 euros in the heart of Valencia. Vermúdez is expanding its operating hours to consolidate its model as a comprehensive gastronomic space: lunch, midday meal, and dinner. A sample of Vermúdez lunches. Vermúdez pays tribute to the most iconic gastronomic ritual of the Valencian Community: the *almuerzo*. The restaurant located at Gran Vía Germanías, 21, in Valencia, is moving its opening time forward by four hours to officially incorporate *almuerzos* into its menu. With this initiative, the establishment brings the unmistakable flavor of fire and embers to the cosmopolitan epicenter of Ruzafa, something very uncommon in the city centre.
Its new lunch hours will be Tuesday to Saturday, from 09:30 to 12:00. These morning hours will be added to its regular schedule: midday meals from Tuesday to Saturday from 13:30 to 16:00—now uninterrupted since 09:30—dinners from Tuesday to Saturday from 19:00 to 23:30, and Monday openings from 19:00h to 23:30h. This allows the restaurant to meet the needs of a diverse audience throughout almost the entire day. Vermúdez bets on the authenticity of the “bar de siempre” (the neighborhood bar) with a disruptive element: it is the only space in the neighborhood to light the charcoal grill early in the morning.
This uniqueness makes the venue the new morning refuge for workers, executives, and professionals in the Gran Vía and Ruzafa area. Far from being conceived as an occasional treat, its highly competitive pricing transforms the mid-morning break into an accessible and comforting routine. Likewise, for those who view the *almuerzo* as a social act without the rush of the workday, Saturday stands out as the great weekly meeting point to honor it.
And, for those who prefer a lighter alternative, the house is simultaneously launching its Breakfast Menu (from €3.50 to €5.50), consisting of coffee and various toasts.
A novel approach: grilled lunches in the city centre. There are practically no spaces in the center of Valencia that offer *almuerzos* featuring meats and sausages prepared on the grill, additionally at an affordable price: €7.50 (half sandwich) or €8.50 (whole). The menu—the traditional popular *almuerzo*—includes the *gasto* (peanuts and pickles), a drink, a sandwich, and coffee.
Within the grilled sandwich proposal, the menu offers eight specialties:
Clásico: Spanish omelette (*tortilla de patatas*) and longaniza sausages.
Blanc i negre: Longaniza and blood sausage with homemade *all i oli*.
Navarrico: Navarra chistorra, fried egg, and potatoes.
Jefe: Chicken thigh, brie cheese, caramelized onion, and fresh tomato.
Almussafes: Mallorca sobrasada, cheese, grilled onion, and cured yolk.
Animal: Marinated loin, ham, cheese, green pepper, and mayonnaise.
Porkis: Pulled pork, red onion, and chipotle mayonnaise.
Especial: Beef cheek, meat jus, fried egg, potatoes, and truffle.
During weekends and holidays, all menus have a €1 increase. Optional supplements (carajillo, *cremaet*, or *mistela*) will have an additional cost of between €0.50 and €1.
Breakfast and omelets complement the proposal. The Breakfast Menu includes coffee and toasts ranging from €3.50 to €5.50 depending on the toast chosen. The most affordable: fresh tomato, extra virgin olive oil, or butter and jam. Other options include: tomato and ham toast, tomato and cured cheese, or tomato and tuna. There is always the possibility to add an extra such as avocado cream or scrambled eggs for an additional €1.
Within this morning slot, the *tortilla de patatas* takes on special prominence. Carlos Olivella, owner of Vermúdez, has a “special affection” for this dish. As a result of that devotion, “the tortilla of the week” was born—a dynamic proposal featuring a rotating tortilla that surprises customers every seven days with special creations. Additionally, the bar will feature its traditional *pincho de tortilla de patata* as a permanent daily fixture.
Grilled meat
With this initiative, Vermúdez brings the authenticity of the traditional bar to the heart of Ruzafa with unbeatable value for money. The incorporation of *almuerzos* completes a gastronomic project, as the menu already featured renowned dishes such as *huevos rotos* (broken eggs) with sobrasada and potatoes or aged beef cannelloni with white truffle. This is in addition to its grilled meat offerings such as the “Joselito” tenderloin with truffle parmentier, the Discarlux aged beef *Txuleta*, or aged beef top loin with potatoes and Padrón peppers.
