From the minds of multiple incredible artists and musicians, ‘Tango en Tiempo de Mujer’ proved to be a hit as it packed ‘Teatre Talia’ on Monday. Folks from all over the city attended to immerse themselves in an evening of Argentine Tango and learn more about a woman’s role in the dance. Juan Esteban Cuacci entered the stage with incredible cellist Estrella Guerrero during the first glimpse of the evening. In the first few notes of music, the stage was joined by professional dancer Melina Greco in a solo awe- striking performance. These first moments perfectly set the stage for what would become the story of women in tango dancing.

Amalia Bueti appeared among other performers to lead the story through song. The poetic lyricism of each score carried the audience through the generationally developed art form that is Tango. Joined over the course of the night by Rebeca Núñez, Bárbara Palmer, and John Arbeláez, the dance pieces became more and more intricate.

Towards the end of the show a piece was shared in which every performer held the stage at once. Not only did the moment capture the community which Tango has created, but broke the fourth wall and roped the audience into really feeling its story.
