A groundbreaking discovery in Valencia sheds new light on Sabina Suey’s heroic efforts during the Spanish Civil War to safeguard the Holy Grail of the Valencia Cathedral. Recently uncovered documents, studied by Dr. Ana Mafé García, provide insights into Suey’s resilience amidst the chaos of war. Sabina, marginalised by traditional historiography, orchestrated the relocation of the Holy Chalice to safeguard it from looting.

Her niece, Amparo Doñate Suey, recounts the covert operation to transport the relic to London, despite offers of evacuation from MI6, due to distrust. The documents, including handwritten texts, photographs, and diaries, offer a glimpse into the challenges faced during this tumultuous time.

The International Scientific Committee for the Study of the Holy Grail, led by Dr. Mafé, plans an exhibition dedicated to Sabina’s role, to be held at the III International Congress of Dissemination and Journalism in October.
