ON 15 NOVEMBER, #SOMESMORZADORS ORGANISES A LIVE COOKING COMPETITION AT THE GASTRÓNOMA SECTORIAL TRADE FAIR

Amstel brings together the 10 finalists to choose the recipe for the new sandwich that best represents the flavour of ‘De la Terra’.

L’Esmorzar has all the flavour of the Valencian character. And Amstel’s #SomEsmorzadors initiative has proposed that it should also have all the flavour of ‘De la Terra’ products and elaborations.

More than 200 establishments from all over the region have entered the competition to create a new sandwich, ‘De la Terra’, which will become part of the iconic Valencian lunchtime snacks. An Olympus where classics such as ‘Chivito’ or ‘Blanc i negre’ can be found alongside new additions such as ‘Quart de Poblet’, the sandwich that Amstel challenged restaurateurs to create last year in homage to the Valencian municipality where it brews its beers.

The popular vote has chosen the 10 finalists who on 15 November will prepare their recipes live and defend them before a jury chaired by Ricard Camarena, double Michelin Star, Michelin Green Star and eighth best vegetable restaurant in the world according to the Smart Green Guide 2022.

He will be accompanied by Rafael Sánchez, master brewer at Asmtel; Belén Arias, president of the Academy of Gastronomy of the Valencian Community; Fernando Durà, member of the executive committee of LA UNIÓ Llauradora i Ramadera; and Ana Torres, representative of the collective Dones Esmorzadores.

At 10:30 am the competition will begin in the Gastrónoma showcooking space (València exhibition centre, Pavilion 1, Plaza Activa) where you can discover the most authentic flavours of Valencian and ‘De la Terra’ pastries.
