THE ALICANTE REGATTA CLUB IS HOSTING ITS 10TH SUMA ROWING LEAGUE REGATTA WITH 700 SPORTSMEN AND WOMEN SET TO COMPETE ON APRIL 30TH

This Sunday, the Alicante Regatta Club hosts the penultimate regatta of the SUMA Mediterranean Fixed Bench League. It promises to be an exciting and social event, with almost 700 athletes competing, belonging to nineteen different clubs of the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community. The Real Club de Regatas de Alicante (Alicante Regatta Club) offers an amazing quality of service and all the facilities required to host a successful day of rowing.

Fortunately for the athletes, the weather forecast is predicted to be a sunny day, meaning that the athletes will find good conditions and an ideal environment in order to excel their performance on the day. The regatta course will take place inside the port area, so that the public will be able to follow the development of the competition from different areas. The public are lucky in that they will simultaneously have a close up view of the race and have the stunning scenery of the Costa Blanca in the background.

In the event there will be seven different categories, and each course will vary depending on the category. The groups of children, cadets, veterans, and women who are breast cancer survivors, will row 700 metres with one tack included in the race. As for the junior and senior teams, the difficulty rises, as they will have to row 1,400 metres and complete three tacks. The absolute and veteran categories will be the most represented on the water, with 19 and 32 teams respectively.

The final two races

This race is the penultimate of the eleven races scheduled in the SUMA Mediterranean Fixed Bench 2023 League.
