Valencia, May 12, 2026.Contemporary artist Aleksandra Istorik presents her own creative universe under the concept of golden surrealism, an artistic line that fuses symbolism, technical experimentation, and a powerful emotional charge. Her work, developed through mixed media, stands out for its combination of materials and visual languages that dialogue between the real and the symbolic. And she has done so at the ‘Casino de Agricultura’, where it will remain until after the summer. The exhibition is open to the public in the Real Casino area on the second floor. The use of gold leaf—thin golden sheets—together with acrylics and oils in metallic tones, becomes an essential resource within her practice. These elements not only provide a luminous and attractive aesthetic, but also function as a metaphor for the richness and, at the same time, the fragility of life. Through this duality, Istorik invites the viewer to reflect on the ephemeral nature of existence and the importance of choosing how to live it.
Far from following trends, Istorik presents her work as a declaration of principles. Her creative process starts from absolute dedication, where each piece is built from honesty and commitment to art. Aleksandra Istorik does not believe in words, but in deeds: “All my work stems from the commitment to create from absolute dedication, putting my soul into each piece and demonstrating, through my work, my deep love for art.”
Works such as The Soul’s Protector, The Game of Life, and The Flames of Life reflect this constant search. In particular, The Game of Life incorporates unexpected materials such as end parts of found cartridges, where marks can be seen, creating a contrast between the beautiful and the disturbing. This visual and conceptual tension is one of the keys to her artistic language. Her work has been presented in prominent international spaces such as the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris, ESTAMPA in Madrid, Art Karlsruhe in Germany, and AVA Fest in Japan. Likewise, her works are part of important private and institutional collections, including that of the MUMA.
Since 2021, she has directed the Istorik Gallery in Valencia, a space that functions as a platform for promoting and developing contemporary art, consolidating her role not only as a creator, but also as an active agent within the current art scene.
The headquarters of the Royal Society of Agriculture and Sports, better known as the Casino de Agricultura, has more than 3,000 square metres distributed over five floors, houses two restaurants, a lounge bar with uninterrupted kitchen service, meeting rooms, a boardroom, a library with more than 11,000 volumes—including references from the 17th century—game rooms, and spaces for events and exhibitions. In addition, its members enjoy correspondence agreements with more than 60 clubs in Spain and 40 abroad, which allows them to access similar institutions around the world.
