VALENCIA PREPARES FOR AN INTENSE WEEKEND OF THE BEST IN REGIONAL  ROWING

Regional rowing has an appointment this weekend where on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April the IX Regatta of the SUMA League will be held, in Valencia. Fixed Bank of the Mediterranean. The Real Club Naútico Valencia is organising, in collaboration with the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community, an event in which more than 500 sportsmen and women will participate. It is the ninth of the eleven races scheduled in one of the most important regional competitions in the country in this sport.

The closing of the League is approaching and the results of this event will be decisive in the final classification.

The regatta course will be located in front of the Pinedo Beach and the port facilities, so the public will be able to watch the spectacle from various positions.

The weather forecast is positive, a decisive factor for the participants to maximise their efforts and achieve the best possible result. The day starts early in the morning and will last throughout the morning on both days.

The special feature of this regatta is that it is organised on the basis of a system of heats. The teams initially compete in qualifying heats and, depending on the result obtained, they will enter the A and B finals. The event will host seven different different categories, including male, female and mixed gender groups.

The mixed promotion, mixed gender, SCM (formed by people who have overcome a people who have survived breast cancer), cadets and veterans will complete a 700-metres and a tack. The difficulty increases in the juvenile and absolute starts, with 1,400 metres and three tacks. The veterans category is the most crowded with 24 boats. A total of 64 teams have confirmed their start.

The nineteen clubs taking part in the IX Regatta of the SUMA Banco Fijo del Mediterráneo League are Club Náutico Mediterranean are Club Náutico Alicante Costa Blanca, Club Náutico Altea, Club Náutico Benidorm, Club Náutico Campello, Club Deportivo de Mar Clot de L’Illot El Campello, Club Náutico Altea, L’Illot El Campello, Club Náutico Santa Pola, Club Rem Denia, Real Club Náutico Denia, Club Rem Cía Gandía, Real Club Náutico Gandía, Club Remo Torrevieja, Real Club Náutico Torrevieja, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Valencia, Club de Remo Ciudad de Valencia, Real Club Regatas Alicante, Secció Esportiva Universitat d’Alacant and Club de Remo Carthago Boga-Santa Lucía.
