##Passengers of Baleària, which is a leading shipping company in passenger and cargo transport, can take an antigen test at the Dénia maritime station before boarding to the Balearic Islands. Baleària’s service has been launched in collaboration with the Bioarray Genetic Diagnosis Laboratory. The antigen tests are carried out next to the ticket office of Baleària shipping company, in a space that has been set up especially for people to be tested. If a passenger wishes to get an antigen test that it is expected that they get tested between two hours and thirty minutes before the departure of the ships. The results will then be delivered by email or SMS. If any passengers wish to book onto this service then they must purchase it in advance through this link: https://bioarray.es/es/antigenos# .
The Balearic Government’s regulations do make it clear that in some cases a passenger can only travel to or travel back from the Balearic Islands if they have fitted a certain criteria. This criteria fits all passengers who are Spanish residents that live in a community or city that has a fourteen day accumulated incidence of more than sixty cases per one-hundred-thousand inhabitants and those who reside in the Balearic Islands who want to return home after a journey of more than seventy-two hours. These passengers must present a negative PCR test that was performed in the seventy-two hours prior to their arrival or a rapid antigen test that was performed in the previous forty-eight hours. If they have not taken a test then a passenger must show a document proving that they have received the full vaccination schedule over the previous eight months with the first dose being at least fourteen days before their trip. The other option is to showcase a document stating that they have overcome the disease in the last six months. Including this, all passengers must present the digital health control form.
These measures are to ensure that the virus is not spread any further. As well as the Government regulations, Baleària has established their own safety measures that go beyond those established by the health authorities. Baleària have put a capacity reduction into place on all of their ships. Alongside the mandatory mask wearing, the shipping company also provide hydroalcoholic gel and maintain a specific cleaning schedule that that has certified disinfectant products. On top of this, in order to encourage social distancing, Baleària continue to promote their online booking and check-in system, whilst their entire fleet of boats incorporates posters to remind passengers of their health recommendations.
