On Sunday June 18, Benidorm played host to the Autonomous Championship of Sea Rowing Endurance 2023. The event, organised by Club Náutico Benidorm and the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community, was sponsored by SUMA Gestión Tributaria. The regatta took place in one of the most recognized points of the Costa Blanca, in front of the picturesque Poniente Beach in Benidorm. The public were lucky enough to have a clear view of the show from the promenade and the marina.

A total of one hundred boats representing twelve different clubs participated in the gruelling race, which featured individual, double and C4+ modalities. The cadet and veteran teams tackled a course of 3,000 metres with three tacks, while the youth and absolute teams faced an even more challenging 4,300 metre course with six tacks.

The day kicked off with the first race starting promptly at 8:30 a.m. As the morning progressed, several thrilling races unfolded, ultimately determining the regional champions. Notably, the regatta included the participation of mixed groups in the absolute and veteran categories. Each category was decided through a single task, with the final standings determined by finishing times.

The twelve clubs that participated in the Autonomous Championship Sea Rowing Endurance 2023 were Club Náutico Alicante Costa Blanca, Club Náutico Altea, Club Náutico Benidorm, Real Club Regatas Alicante, Club Náutico Santa Pola, Real Club Náutico Torrevieja, Real Club Náutico Gandía, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Denia, Real Club Náutico Valencia Club Remo Ciudad de Valencia and Club Deportivo de Mar Clot de L’Illot El Campello.
