CALPE HOSTS THE V SUMA LEAGUE REGATTA ON FEBRUARY 26!

The V Regatta of the SUMA Fixed Bank League of the Mediterranean will be held next Sunday, February 26th in Calpe. The facilities of the Real Club Náutico Calpe host this rowing event, which is organized by the Federación de Remo de la Comunitat Valenciana and sponsored by SUMA Gestión Tributaria, with the participation of clubs from different parts of the Comunitat. More than 558 athletes from all age groups will compete, including children and veteran categories.

The regatta course will be located in front of the Cantal Roig beach and very close to the majestic Peñón de Ifach, which marks the town of Calpe. The attending public will be able to watch the spectacle from various points on the beach and the port. The distance covered varies depending on the category. The groups of children, cadets, veterans and SCM (people who have overcome breast cancer) will run 700 metres and will have to complete a tack.

The requirement increases for juniors and seniors, whose course is extended to 1,400 metres and three tacks. A total of 62 boats are scheduled to start, corresponding to one Infantile Mixed Promotion team, eight cadets, one mixed cadet, four juveniles, two SCM Promotion, two Mixed Promotion Category, 18 absolute and 26 veterans.

The regatta starts at 9 am and will last all morning. Participating teams will get points, depending on their position, which will be added to the overall standings of the SUMA League. The tournament has eleven regattas, so it is now reaching its halfway point.

The clubs participating in the V Regatta of the Mediterranean SUMA Fixed Bank League are Club Náutico Alicante Costa Blanca, Club Náutico Altea, Club Náutico Benidorm, Club Náutico Campello, Club Náutico Santa Pola, Club Rem Cía Gandía, Club Rem Denia, Real Club Náutico Denia, Club Remo Torrevieja, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Valencia, Real Club Náutico Gandía, Real Club Náutico Torrevieja, Real Club Regatas Alicante, Secció Esportiva Universitat d’Alacant, Club de Remo Ciudad de Valencia, Club Deportivo de Mar Clot de L’Illot El Campello and Club de Remo Carthago Boga-Santa Lucía.
