Geldo is the first municipality in Castellón to signpost the Holy Grail Way

Geldo is the first municipality in Castellón to signpost the Holy Grail Way!

The Cultural Association The Way of the Holy Grail together with the Housewives of Emperador continues to write the pages of the history of the Way of the Holy Grail.

On 2 July 2022, the Way of the Holy Grail was signposted in Geldo, the first village to do so in the province of Castellón. This action has been carried out through the collaboration of the local residents with the parish church presided over by Mr. Jose Miguel Navarro, the village priest.

This action has been consolidated thanks to the fact that Javier Bielsa, Knight of the Holy Chalice, got to know the work of Dr. Ana Mafé which she presented in the City Museum, Marqués de Campo Palace with Mr. Luis Lliso, president of ARCHIVAL. From that conference, he felt inspired by the project and the positive effect that it could have for his town, Geldo.

From the first moment, Don Javier has counted on the close collaboration of Manuel Santamaría, councillor of the Town Hall.

We highlight some ideas expressed by the speaker of the event, Dr. Angel del Campo, professor at the European University: “How  the pilgrim can enjoy a beautiful landscape along this way and contemplate the richness and beauty of the orchard of Geldo, to the village of Villatorcas with the murmur of the water of the river Palancia and that so many times the residents of this town have done it as a walk”.

“To walk and think along the Way of the Holy Grail, either from Jerusalem, from Rome, from the Royal Pantheon Monastery of San Juan de la Peña or from Geldo, is not an excursion. It is to walk along a path allowing oneself to be embraced by nature and to believe that “I as a person”, alone or in company “think of myself and others” in order to forge a more human and free society. These are the two rails of the road, the physical and the spiritual. “

Holy Grail Association: “We are proud of the very positive and massive response of the neighbours to the event who did not hesitate to dedicate their time to witness this endearing act.We would like to give special thanks to the multifaceted artist José de L’Omet for designing and making the banners that have decorated the bell tower of the church, to the director of the music band Salvador Rivas for delighting us with his violin when unveiling the plaque, to Arcadio Serrano for carving the hole in the centenary stone where to insert it and to Jordi Serrano for his inexhaustible energy and willingness to help in any way that was needed.”

The Asociación Cultural El Camino del Santo Graal was present via Dr. Ana Mafé García, its president, the secretary and councillor of Massamagrell Mr. Jesús Gimeno Peris, Mr. José Planillo, Mr. José Cuñat and sympathizers of the Camino del Santo Graal.

Dr. Mafé presented the Hebrew meaning of “blood” and its relationship with the Holy Chalice of the Cathedral of Valencia. She also explained the concept of the “pilgrimage path” for the future of the municipality of Geldo. Her words were very well received by the attendees who also participated in the excitement of being part of the history of the Way of the Holy Grail.

The mayor of the municipality expressed his desire to continue marking the Way of the Holy Grail with these socarrats before the end of the current year.
