WHAT’S ON IN VALENCIA THIS DECEMBER & NEW YEAR!

Circus shows, ice skating, food trucks, and gastronomy: the Valencia Christmas Market is an authentic ‘naivdad’ experience. The skating rink is back in Valencia’s Plaza del Ayuntamiento! Open now until January 7th, it is the ultimate Christmas activity for just 9 euros. Open every day from 11am – 11pm. The traditional Christmas Carousel has also been set up; it certainly alights the Christmas atmosphere and is the perfect activity for the little ones.

In the heart of the city, you couldn’t find yourself in a better place to do your Christmas shopping. For artisanal items, stop by the Craft Fair located in Plaza de la Reina, 24th November to 7th January. Or visit the Colón Market and find everything from local cuisine to ceramics, jewellery.  also returns with its classic Christmas market, offering perfect gift ideas and a wide range of culinary options provided by food trucks.

This Christmas, Valencia will also propose the “Music in the Street” cycle, in which a circuit of small-format live musical performances will be launched in Plaza del Arzobispo, Plaza del Colegio del Patriarca, Mercat de Colón and Plaza de la Mercé. These concerts will take place on December 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2023 and January 2, 3 and 4, 2024 between 6 and 8 pm and seek to promote local commerce.

Parties and nightlife

The music scene does not rest, as the run up to Christmas begins, event organiser the basement sound are hosting their monthly underground event, along with some additional festive parties. House season continues on Tuesday 5 December at Palau Alameda restaurant with another double dance session in two spaces and during two time slots from 19:00h to 03:30h as always in the big hall, and from 02:00h to 07:00h in the basement.¡ Valencia welcomes hours of the best electronic house music in the centre of the city. They also bring an enticing after party option for NYE, dance into the early hours 23:59h – 07:00h… and don’t miss their Christmas party 23rd December 17:00h – 07:00h. More New Year’s Eve parties

The city has a host of options for New Year’s Eve parties to say goodbye to 2023 in style. A popular and simple idea is New Year’s Eve in the Town Hall Square. Music and lights will return to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento on December 31. The Mestalla stadium has authorised a New Year’s Eve party inside the stadium, with affordable tickets, from 20 euros including a drink.
