* Organised by the Footballers’ Association, Valencia CF and produced by Symphony Productions, the profits will go to the Silla Football School

The 1st Champions Gala organised by the Valencia CF Footballers Association together with Valencia CF was a resounding success and the best possible finale to the Centenary year. Half a thousand Valencia CF & music fans gathered in the immense hall 23 in Kinepolis to enjoy a concert in which football, opera and show business were united in a winning team in favour of the charitable cause, A-Ball.

The Centenary concert was the perfect end to a year full of emotions and sporting successes and was attended by half a thousand people, including some legends and ambassadors of Valencia CF such as Miguel Tendillo and Miguel Ángel Bossio, as well as the president of the Valencia CF Footballers’ Association, Fernando Giner, Emilio Fenoll, Juan Sánchez, and the president of the Agrupación de Peñas, Federico Sagreras, among other personalities from Valencia.

With the production of Symphony Productions, this gala consisted of a selection of the best opera arias sung by the best voices on the international scene, among other works known worldwide. Two of the most emblematic pieces heard every year at the New Year’s concert in Vienna will also be performed; in addition to Queen’s famous “We are the Champions”, in an intimate version for piano and voices, the “Amunt Valencia” conducted by its composer, Pablo Sánchez Torrella, among many other world-famous works by Bizet, Verdi, Puccini and Handel.

To conclude the concert, the Official Hymns of Valencia CF and the Champions League were played. All this was performed by the Orchestra and Choir of the “Collegium Vocale de Valencia”, together with two of the best Valencian voices on the scene: Vicent Romero (Tenor) and Clara Mínguez (Soprano), and all under the direction of the Maestro, also Valencian, Cristian Cavero García.

The benefits, destined to the School of Football in Silla

One of the objectives of the Valencia CF Footballers’ Association is to promote charity projects linked to sporting activity. This time, in order to obtain funds to support them financially, a cultural event was chosen that met the expectations of both Valencia CF lovers and those of good music: the 1st Champions Gala. ‘Sentiment’, Christmas, solidarity and experience joined together for a solidarity action: A-Ball, Football in a chair. In fact, all the profits from the 1st Champions Gala go entirely to the Valencia CF School of Saddle Football, which is supervised by the Association. In addition, a draw was held among the attendees for T-shirts and balls signed by the first team of Valencia CF, who were the first to take part in the initiative.
