Club de Mar Clot de L’Illot El Campello triumphs in the Autonómico de Remo de SUMA at Benidorm.

More than 400 athletes took part in the Autonomous Championship Rowing Sea SUMA held in Benidorm last Sunday.

This event represents the closing of the regional rowing season 2021-2022. Athletes put in their all for this final event, with categories for all ages groups. The cadets and the veterans rowed a total distance of 3,000 metres whilst the juniors had to row an extra 1000 metres.

Club de Mar Clot de L’Illot El Campello came at the top of the league, winning seven gold medals out of the eleven events.

Real Club Náutico Calpe obtained two victories in the cadet women’s and veteran mixed doubles. The C2X male and female events for veterans were won by Club Náutico Altea and Real Club Náutico Valencia respectively.

All the teams displayed great effort and competitiveness and it was a spectacular and exciting event to observe. Especially as the men’s race ended with  Club de Mar Clot de L’Illot El Campello less than ten seconds ahead of the second classified, the Real Club Náutico Gandía!
