#Signing on a budget has never looked this good!
This week, Valencia CF are welcoming the 23-year-old Swiss defender, Eray Cömert amongst their ranks. In his signing interview with the blanc i negres, the young defender has expressed his excitement to be playing for a big club in an even bigger competition, LaLiga. He said, “ I know it’s a big step, but I know my qualities and I know that I can improve here as well.”
Following his fantastic performance with Basel in the 2019-2020 season, alongside Omar Alderete, the two defenders showcased great teamwork, which José Bordalás is hoping to take advantage of.
‘Los Ches’ weren’t the only team interested in Cömert, Arsenal also had their eye on the defender due to his international experience with the Swiss national team and FC Basel. Another factor that makes the player a valuable addition to any team is his speed and ability to seize the opportunity to move forward with the ball and then retreat back to his original position. A crucial counter-attacking ability we often associate with the likes of Sergio Ramos.
Welcome to Valencia, Eray, we are all excited to see what you can bring to the team this season.
